Other winners included Netflix, NBC News, Radiolab (WNYC) and Vice.
The award was presented to Sarah by special guest presenter Dr. Anthony Fauci in a virtual ceremony held on February 9, 2021, hosted by Anderson Cooper, CNN anchor, and Michele Norris, opinion columnist for The Washington Post. Other special guest presenters for the hour-long ceremony included Professor Jelani Cobb and 2019 duPont winner Mariska Hargitay.
Founded in 1942, the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Awards uphold the highest standards in journalism by honoring winners annually, informing the public about those journalists' contributions and supporting journalism education and innovation. It is considered the most well-respected journalism-only award for broadcast journalism.
Congratulations Sarah!
